Circle Time Counting Guide
Daily Warmup Plan
Objective
Students will count aloud from one to ten using finger plays, body movements, and concrete math counters during morning circle time. Learners will demonstrate one-to-one correspondence and name numbers in sequence with teacher guidance.
Materials
Ten wooden counting blocks, five rhythm sticks, number cards one to ten, circular floor seating spots, and large picture counters for visual display during whole-group warmup songs.
Warm-up
Gather children on circle spots. Sing the daily ten-finger greeting song. Model opening both hands wide and counting slowly from one to five, then six to ten with energetic claps.
Main activity
Introduce the counting movement routine. Tap rhythm sticks three times while students jump three times. Call out numbers one through ten, prompting children to show matching fingers and count aloud together.
Assessment
Observe student participation during finger counting and movement games. Check if children match each verbal count to one physical action and identify numbers zero through ten accurately without skipping.
